FANS ENJOY SPECIAL WORLD CUP FORUM

30 November 2022

BREWERS supporters enjoyed a special World Cup edition of our regular Fan Forums which included a chance to watch the England v Wales game live on the big screen at the Pirelli Stadium.

The pre-match forum featured a Q&A with skipper John Brayford and former Premier League assistant referee Roy Burton, who looks after the officials on match days at the Pirelli Stadium and who writes the Ask the Ref column in the programme.

John gave an insight into how the Brewers team cope with refereeing decisions not going their way and his thoughts on what could be done to make improvements - with consistency of decision making being what he would like to see improved the most.

Roy talked fans through how referees approach the game and looked at how VAR was having an impact on the World Cup.

Fans were able to pose their questions during the 45 minute session before watching England qualify for the knockout stages with a 3-0 win.

The Brewers captain said: "This is my second fan forum and it's always great to meet the supporters and hear what they have to say. It was a very enjoyable evening."
