BURTON Albion is looking for nominees for its second Fan of the Year.
Life-long supporter Bernard Lawes was named the club’s first Fan of the Year at the end of last season.
Â
He received the George Rider Memorial Trophy - an annual award for a supporter who has shown dedication and commitment beyond the norm in following the Brewers.Â
 Â
The trophy has been donated by Margaret Morton, whose grandfather George Rider was a long-standing Brewers fan.Â
 Â
George was the treasurer of the old Burton Albion Supporters’ Club. He was a dedicated Brewers supporter at the old Lloyd’s ground on Wellington Street, where he worked on the turnstiles.Â
  Â
Bernard, now in his 80s, has been following Burton Albion from the very first season back in 1950, and has a seat at the Pirelli Stadium to this day.Â
 Â
Now we are looking for nominees for this year’s award
Â
Fans are invited to nominate who they want to receive the award.
Â
Please email your nomination to nigel.powlson@burtonalbionfc.co.uk telling us why they should be named Fan of the Year. Please include your contact name and number. The award will be presented on May 7 at the Reading game. Nominations must be received by Friday, April 28.
