Burton Albion came from two goals behind to grab a late equaliser at the Pirelli Stadium to maintain the Brewers' unbeaten start to the season.
Albion made a lively start with the hosts seeing plenty of the ball in the opening stages with Adam McGurk threatening to break free on four minutes; only for Rene Howe's through ball to just elude the former Tranmere man.
It was McGurk causing problems again minutes later when a long ball from Rory Delap found the forward in space; however the 24-year-old was unable to collect.
Bury, however, grew in confidence as the half progressed, limiting the Brewers' chances and creating a few of their own.
It was Kevin Blackwell's men that took the lead on 16. A through ball found Anton Forrester down the middle and the striker finished clinically; guiding an unstoppable curling effort past Dean Lyness and into the top left hand corner from 18 yards.
The Brewers responded well to the setback and came close on 22; Chris Hussey's cross from the left finding Robbie Weir at the back post; however the midfielder's header fell the wrong side of the post.
Two minutes later and Burton again threatened, this time with Alex MacDonald down the right who crossed following good link up play with McGurk however his delivery was cleared for a corner.
The visitors' continued to frustrate Burton and it was they who were creating problems again five minutes before the interval as the goalscorer Forrester's effort saw Lyness tip the goal-bound effort away for a corner.
From the resulting setpiece Bury extended their advantage as the Brewers failed to to clear; enabling William Edjenguele to stab home through a sea of bodies from close range.

The Brewers set about the second period positively and came close to pulling a goal back on 50 when a Lee Bell effort was deflected goalwards by Rene Howe and the striker could only stand in amazement as Rob Lainton somehow tipped away his powerful close range header.
Two minutes later and Burton were threatening again, this time a Delap long throw was allowed to bounce in the visitors' area before narrowly missing McGurk at the back post.
Having weathered the storm Bury settled into the second half and looked dangerous on the break as the hosts' went in search of goal.
However arguably the decisive moment of the half came on 64 when a double substitution saw Matty Palmer and Michael Symes replace Robbie Weir and Alex MacDonald respectively.
Both created an immediate impact with Palmer's inviting cross on 66 just missing both Symes and Howe in the area as the Brewers stepped up the pressure.
Gary Rowett's men continued to press as the half advanced and were rewarded seven minutes from time as McGurk, who had enjoyed an excellent game, crossed to substitute Symes who buried his header from close range to reduce the arrears.
With the momentum in their favour, Albion drove forward and the equaliser came on 90 minutes; Palmer's ball finding McGurk who, with plenty still to do, swivelled and curled an effort past Lainton and into the roof of the net to cue mass celebrations at the Pirelli Stadium.
The leveller maintains Burton's unbeaten start to the campaign ahead of Tuesday's visit of Fulham in the Capital One Cup 2nd round.
