CLOUGH LOOKS TO ADD TO SQUAD'S CREATIVITY

12 January 2017

NIGEL Clough is hoping to further add to his midfield and striking options before the transfer window closes.

The Albion boss has already stated that he wants to add to the three new faces he has brought in so far in January but has now confirmed the areas he needs to still strengthen.

He said: “It’s midfield and going forward - we need the creativity. Defensively even with Ben Turner out at Watford, having John Brayford back, Kyle McFadzean playing extremely well, Tom Flanagan coming in and doing well we are OK - it’s up at the other end of the pitch we need  a bit of variation.“

Albion also have skipper John Mousinho and Tom Naylor for defensive duties.

Clough said: “We think Tom’s best position is also back there where he can see everything in front of him. Some of his best performances have been at centre half and full back and he’s much better coming onto the ball there.”

In terms of bringing in new signings, Clough is having to play a waiting game.

He said: “We have asked for updates and to see if there is any progress in the situation from other clubs. We are still waiting to hear this week.”
