17 February 2017

BURTON Albion’s charity arm has set out its vision for the future which will help it make an even greater impact on the community over the next three years.

Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) has today launched its 2017-2020 strategy document outlining how it will deliver on its ongoing mission to “make a difference to our communities through the power of sport and the brand of Burton Albion Football Club”.

BACT also used the event to announce that Ashfield Healthcare will continue as headline sponsors until 2020, extending its partnership to 10 years.

The strategy document was produced after extensive consultation with funders, partners, stakeholders and BACT staff and sets out how BACT will deliver on its promise to ‘Inspire, Engage and Educate’.

BACT chairman John Jackson said: “With a clear pathway established I know we will achieve our objectives and in doing so add value to our community and Burton Albion Football Club.

“Our unique relationship with Burton Albion underpins all our endeavours whilst Ashfield’s continued and invaluable support helps give us firm foundations.

“We will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do and I’m sure will make an even greater impact in the years ahead.”

Matt Hancock, BACT Community Manager, said: “This strategy is an important outline of where we are as a trust and where we are going. It will help motivate our dedicated staff to go that extra mile. We are all proud and passionate of the work we do and we are now focussed on the plans for the future and excited about what we feel we can achieve.”

Among the guests at the launch event was Mike Evans, Director of Operations at the English Football League Trust.

He said: “I was delighted to be at Burton Albion for the launch of BACT’s strategy for the next three years. BACT is a trusted and well respected deliverer of services in East Staffordshire. We are very proud to have Burton Albion Community Trust as part of our network and we are looking forward to working with the team for many years to come.”
